Welcome to Meredith Cornett Photography!

 

To all whom I have yet to meet, this is me…Meredith. I was born and raised right here in Eastern North Carolina. I like to think that I was born with an interest and talent for photography. It seems as if whether it was a real camera or just a throw away, I always had one in my hand, ready to document life and adventures as it unfolded before me. I first discovered my love for photography as a junior in high school when I took up an interest of taking pictures for friends and family. I enrolled at Carteret Community College in 2001 taking art classes and then photography. In 2004, I received an Associates of Applied Science-Emphasis in Photography. It was when I was in college that I gathered a love for all venues of my craft. Immediately out of college, I landed a job with a local advertising company and dove into commercial and product photography while collecting a well of information of the advertising world. Clientele included, Andy’s Cheesesteaks and Cheesburgers, Coldwell Banker Spectrum Properties, EJW Outdoors, Royal Coat Decorative Concrete, Sundee Stephenson Law Firm, Mashburn Appraisal, Wellons Enterprises, the Harborlight Inn, Prudential Sun-Surf Realty and many more. I also worked with the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce by joining them at grand openings and documenting the ribbon cuttings. Those ribbon cuttings appeared in The Chamber newspaper as well as the Carteret Business Magazine.

 

After 3 years of the advertising business, I moved on to working on my photography full time. My motto throughout college was “I learn something new every day.” Knowledge is like a spring! It keeps coming if you let it and you can always get more! Life is fun, full of memories; never meant to be dull.

 

I would say that one of the things I love the most about photography is meeting new people and getting to know them. When a career is something you love and it brings people together and friendships form, how beautiful life can be. I invite you into not just my business, but my life…as my friend.
